Dolls House

This Doll’s House was built by my Grandfather for my mother and her three sisters, probably around 1910- 1920. It was much-loved and passed through generations to us. However, whilst the whole top half lifted off, the ‘play value’ was limited because access was restricted to a loft hatch and two openings at the back. The better solution seemed to be to make more openings at the front of the house….
and so we did this…
My Grandson now uses it as a barracks for his toy soldiers:
maybe not the most butch of lodgings they’ve ever had, but it looks pretty comfortable ….
